Travel Photography, London and Big Ben at twilight...

London absolutely captured my heart. I can't wait to go back, I loved seeing the iconic Big Ben! Making pictures during twilight, or the blue hour, as it’s often called, allows the photographer to create beautiful story-telling imagery. The sky takes on a deep rich color during twilight, and the light is balanced within the scene, but only for a short time before it fades to black. You can use apps for determining twilight and moon phases, try The Photographer's Ephemeris (TPE), or Lighttracker. If you are photographing cityscapes with highways and streets, you can incorporate the streaks of light from passing cars into your photo for more drama and excitement. This is easy to do by controlling the length of exposure. The key is to time your exposure as the car enters the scene, and expose long enough so that it exits the frame. This creates a travel photograph that is unique and more fun! I hope you have a great weekend! ~ Deb
