El Morro Lighthouse, Havana Cuba at twilight...

El Morro Lighthouse, Havana Cuba - photographed during twilight
This location is beautiful night and day, however my favorite time to take in the view is sunset and twilight. During twilight, a pink band of color settled near the horizon, which accentuated the sky. Lights sparkling in the background makes downtown Havana look magical. I'd love to revisit this lighthouse one day, so many possibilities for photography!

For this photograph, I used a Feisol 3442 carbon fiber tripod, perfect for everyday and travel. To keep the tripod in top working order, I tighten and clean the legs and twist locks,  (more info here). The ball head friction dial can be adjusted after the ball head is in the locked down position (I use the 50D). The great thing about this tripod is that it weighs 2.31 lbs, and inverts to 19" for easy packing. I carried it from one end of Cuba to the other!

I used a Nikon D3s, Nikon 28-300mm, and cable release to make the picture, this was my very last shot from the El Morro lighthouse. I didn't want to leave! Have fun shooting! ~ Deb
