Winter Wonderland...

This photograph was taken in April during a sudden snowstorm in Colorado. The elk were foraging for food on tree branches and I liked their graceful poses. I love the snow! Being from Florida, I don't get to see snow very often, and it was beautiful to watch it falling.
I thought this image might make a nice holiday card printed on textured art paper. I wanted to give it a more illustrative look that accentuated the snow. I used an effect called Colored Pencil in Snap Art - one of my favorite Photoshop plug-ins. Once I selected Colored Pencil, I further refined the effect by taking advantage of the many variables such as using a medium pencil with the more abstract option. I also adjusted the color temperature for cooler look that works well with the snow. Below is the original image.
Have fun with your digital images and make great pictures!
