Create a painterly look with your photos using textures and borders...

A texture layer can create a soft, painterly look, changing the overall mood of a photograph. You can overlay a texture layer with your photograph, and choose a blend mode to create soft brushstrokes of color throughout the composition. This is especially helpful with empty sky images, allowing the texture to show through. I used a beautiful texture from my favorite collection Spring Painterly from Flypaper Textures.
